National Mine Safety Administration Releases "Key R&D Catalog of Mine Intelligent Robots"
Release Date:2025-09-05

Recently, the National Mine Safety Administration released the Key R&D Catalog of Mine Intelligent Robots (hereinafter referred to as the Catalog). With the goal of reducing labor intensity for workers, minimizing operational safety risks, and enhancing safety assurance capabilities, the Catalog focuses on robot substitution for dangerous, heavy, and undesirable jobs in mines. It proposes the prioritized R&D and application of 56 types of mine intelligent robots across seven categories: excavation, mining, transportation, mineral processing, auxiliary operations, safety control, and rescue. The Catalog specifies the application scenarios and essential functions for each type of robot.

The National Mine Safety Administration encourages mine operators, equipment manufacturers, robotics companies, universities, and research institutes to actively participate and collaborate on joint research and development, accelerating the R&D and industrial application of mine intelligent robots. The goal is to free workers from harsh environments and dangerous, heavy-duty positions, effectively improving the intrinsic safety level of mines. The National Mine Safety Administration will play an active role in coordination and guidance, policy support, standard setting, and information services to create a favorable environment for the R&D and application of mine intelligent robots
